Volunteer/Internship Opportunities

DCCV is always looking for caring individuals who want to volunteer in our Hotline, VAWA Legal Immigration Clinic or The Translation & Interpreting Center, and for social work students in related psychology/human services/nonprofit management fields who desire a supervised internship opportunity.

Our legal immigration clinic welcomes law students, legal interns and fellowship students.

All volunteers and interns attend our 40-hour training class. Our training class is held three times a year, in January, May and September.  Volunteer information packets may be requested at any time.

To request a volunteer application packet, please email us with your name, address and phone number. Or, click below to download a Word or PDF version of the application.

The 40-hour course covers basic listening and crisis intervention techniques, victimology issues, the criminal justice system, symptoms of trauma and grief, resources and related topics. Role plays are an integral part and are included in the training. This class is required for both volunteers and interns before working directly with crime victims.
